finally got what i spent so long wishing about. What i spent so many tears, and sleepless nights, and hours feeling guilty at what little work i was doing. I finally got it. And i couldnt be happier. But im STILL not motivated enough to work through it, till the end. I just cant find the energy to work my best at it. I think its because im scared that i wont be as great at it as i have always wanted to be, or as great and natural at it as everyone expects me to be.
Maybe i should stop worrying about all this and just TRY.
But….I dont know if i can.

When I was in the third grade our recess playground had this huge old wooden fort that had been built by the high schoolers as a project. It had all the normal fort like things, lookouts, stairways, crawltrhoughs etc. In all it was a very very cool fort. It also had a firepole to slide down in the center.

There used to be some sort of game where you stood around the edge of the hole the firepole went down and you leaned forward and tried to grab onto the pole before falling to a certain death below.

I remember I was standing next to the one kid in the entire school that I hated, D. He leaned forward and grabbed the pole pretty high, not a very brave effort. I went after him and hit his hands, pretty much on purpose. He fell through the hole and landed on his face. I slid down the pole and ran out to tell a teacher.

People treated me like I was a hero because I went and got help right away. In reality I caused the kid to fall on purpose, and I didn't feel bad about it.

I am the type of guy who doesn't sleep around. The notches on my belt are at 2, which coincide with the number of serious relationships I've had, minus one. The sad thing is, I don't really want a serious relationship, I would rather sleep around. It's not like the opportunity hasn't risen, I just can't justify it to myself.

Because of this nagging urge to sleep around, I often treat my girlfriends horribly after a year, yet they still stay with me. When I eventually do get them to break up with me, I feel relieved. They, however, are usually crushed; I'm sure I've ruined at least 2 lives. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Just mess around with randoms I guess. I'll work on that, but I think I also lack the self-efficacy (I got no balls).

I should also mention, that I'm driven by guilt in my relationships.
